Cynthia Gibson was the Chief Legal & Business Affairs Officer of Scripps Networks Interactive (NASDAQ: SNI), a fortune 1000 company until its sale to Discovery, Inc. in March of 2018. In that role, Gibson had global responsibility for legal affairs, business affairs, government affairs, corporate secretary, compliance, internal audit and external relations. SNI was an omni-channel media company with well-known brands including HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel and DIY Network.
Currently, Gibson serves as a member of the board of directors of The Trust Company of Tennessee, a privately-held financial services firm with more than $3B of assets under management. She previously served on the supervisory board of a $2B European public company, TVN, S.A., following its acquisition by Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNI), serving as chair of its compensation committee.
Active in the philanthropic community, nationally, Gibson is a member of the board of trustees of United Way of America, chairing its Membership Accountability Committee. In Tennessee, she serves on the boards of the Tennessee Business Leadership Council and Complete Tennessee. In Knoxville, she serves as incoming chair of the board of directors for the United Way of Greater Knoxville and a member of the board of directors of Zoo Knoxville.
