Purchases are directly debited from your primary checking account, eliminating monthly bills and interest charges. Additionally, it serves as a SmartBank ATM card, offering you 24-hour access to both your checking and savings accounts.
What happens if my SmartBank debit card is lost or stolen?
Customer security is a top priority to us. If you believe your card has been lost or stolen, call your local branch immediately, which can be found at Locations – SmartBank. We will stop the use of your card and order a new one for you. To report a lost or stolen card after banking hours login to your SmartBank account to access SmartLine24 or call 1-800-500-1044 for 24/7 assistance.
Are there any extra steps I can take to protect my debit card from fraud?
With a SmartBank debit card, you are eligible to enroll in our superior fraud protection program. This service uses real-time data and advanced analytics to detect and mitigate unauthorized transactions before they occur. Cardholders are notified of high-risk transactions using the contact information we have on file. If fraud is confirmed, the card is immediately disabled to prevent further activity. If the cardholder is unavailable to confirm the activity, the card is temporarily blocked pending further investigation.
What about fees?
When you make your purchase, you can either enter your PIN or use the Credit option when prompted, and the purchase amount will automatically be withdrawn from your SmartBank checking account. No fees are applied for Debit Card purchases whether you sign or use your PIN. Additionally, there are no transaction fees when you use a SmartBank operated ATM.
