SmartBank supports numerous charitable causes in all our markets with a primary focus on financial literacy, environmental stewardship, and affordable housing. Our commitment to these areas reflects our belief in creating sustainable and equitable communities.

Financial Literacy

In our commitment to providing financial literacy, we strive to empower individuals with knowledge and skills needed to excel. To reach this goal, SmartBank Launched the pilot of “Get Smart” Money Series partnership with the Boys and Girls Club to provide financial literacy and banking basics to members and their families.

Environmental Stewardship

Environmental Stewardship is another key component of our philanthropic efforts. Our employees participate in volunteer activities that directly contribute to environmental sustainability efforts within our communities.

In 2024

Over 3500 volunteer hours including 1950 hours of CRA-eligible service

in community development loans qualifying for CRA credit

combined total in 849 small business loans and 15 small farm loans

Affordable Housing

We are dedicated to promoting affordable housing initiatives. In doing so, we maintained an investment portfolio of $78 million in municipal, mortgage-backed and agency securities that provide financing for affordable housing and support economic development.

Park Partners Donations

SmartBank is dedicated to delivering exceptional value to our communities by providing sustainable solutions to their challenges and protecting their greatest assets. Since 2009, SmartBank has donated over $229,000 to organizations who support the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

We are committed to serving our local communities

donated through SmartBank’s charitable foundation to the Saban Center, which will function as a hub for innovative education, training and academic support for teachers, families, and the community, inspiring children to excel in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEM).

contributed to establish a scholarship endowment at the University of Tennessee to assist deserving students from Sevier County High School who qualify based on financial need.
