KNOXVILLE, Tenn. and Mobile, Alabama. – SmartBank welcomes a team of experienced wealth advisors as it expanded into the Mobile market. Thomas Montz, Amanda Montz, and Nathan Novotny all started as financial advisors, as did senior registered client associates Tina Moody, Johanne Carroll, and Missha Waldrip.

“We are excited for the addition of Thomas Montz, Amanda Montz, Nathan Novotny, Tina Moody, Johanne Carroll, and Missha Waldrip,” said Nate Sommer, Regional President. “They are all experienced and skilled professionals that will nurture the growth of our Mobile branch.”

Thomas Montz brings 30 years of financial services experience working with affluent, high-net-worth individuals as well as mid-size commercial businesses. Prior to joining SmartBank, he was with BBVA Investment Services. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Southeastern Louisiana University. He will be responsible for assessing client circumstances and providing individualized highly strategic investment counseling.

Amanda Montz joins SmartBank as a financial advisor with 18 years of financial industry experience. Prior to joining, she was with BBVA Compass Investment Solutions. Montz focus will be on guiding clients through each financial stage of their life using a goal-based process.

Nathan Novotny is licensed in life, health, and annuity insurance. He maintains a Series 7 and 66 securities registrations. Novotny graduated from the University of West Florida as a student-athlete with a bachelor’s in psychology.

Tina Moody holds Series 6, 7, and 63 securities registrations. She has been a registered sales assistant for 25 years focusing on helping client’s reach their goals.

Johanne Carroll earned a bachelor’s degree in business economics from Florida A&M University. Carroll holds Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations.

Missha Waldrip is an experienced relationship manager with more than 16 years in the financial industry. Waldrip holds health and life securities registrations as well as Series 6 and 63.

SmartBank originally entered the Alabama market in 2017 when it acquired Tuscaloosa-based Capstone Bank. Since then, the bank has grown from nine branches to 14 with our newest branch opening on Monday, December 6th in Mobile.

Thomas Montz, Nathan Novotny, Tina Moody and Johanne Carroll are located at SmartBank’s new location at 3704 Dauphin Street, Mobile.  Amanda Montz and Missha Waldrip are location at our Fairhope branch at 106 Ecor Rouge Place, Fairhope.
