SmartBank participated in the internationally recognized Random Acts of Kindness Week by showing small gestures to clients, associates, and friends in the community. SmartBank associates were challenged to pay forward the Random Acts they received throughout the week and post them on social media using the hashtags #RAKWeek2015 and #BeSmartBeKind – many associates took to this challenge, and SmartBank was able to flood social media with a little extra kindness!

“This is one of our favorite weeks of the year,” said SmartBank’s Marketing & Public Relations Officer, Kelley Fowler.  “Our associates love to get out and pay it forward showing small acts of kindness, and this is something we plan to continue throughout the year.”

Each day, SmartBank lobbies were stocked with treats for clients to grab as they stopped by. These treats ranged from cookies and candy to SmartBank coffee tumblers and Starbucks gift cards. SmartBank associates also took to the streets to spread kindness throughout the community. The Fort Sanders Nursing Home in Sevierville was in need of games for recreational activities, so SmartBank donated a basketball goal, soccer ball and jumbo checkerboard table. The residents were surprised with these gifts at their annual Valentine’s lunch. The Pets Without Parents shelter was also in need of supplies, and SmartBank donated dog food and dog treats. SmartBank also catered a breakfast for the Sevierville Fire Department firefighters to thank them for their hard work and dedication. Knoxville Associates surprised patrons at Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt by picking up their tabs. Florida associates coordinated a client appreciation cookout at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.  Other friends in the community were also surprised with random treats throughout the week including SmartBank gift bags filled with goodies.
