SmartBank, a subsidiary of SmartFinancial, Inc., announced that Lynne Fugate has been named Senior Vice President and Knox County Market Executive. Fugate brings over 20 years of banking experience to the organization.

As Knox County Market Executive, Lynne will lead a dynamic team of experienced bankers and will continue to build upon the strong foundation created by SmartBank. The bank is slated to open its newest office located at 202 Advantage Place in the Cedar Bluff area of Knoxville before the end of the year. Lynne will be responsible for overseeing all areas of business development within the Knoxville region.
Lynne began her banking career in 1983 and has held various positions in the financial industry most recently with CapitalMark Bank & Trust as Executive Vice President. She has also held the position of Executive Director of Nine Counties One Vision for almost 6 years. She currently serves as Chair of the Knox County Board of Education. Lynne has received many honors and awards including the 2001 YWCA Tribute to Women for Business and Government, the 2004 Bob Gonia Regional Leadership Award, Knoxville Chapter Public Relations Society of America Community Service Award and the John J. Duncan, Sr. Award for Commitment to Housing and Community Development. Lynne also received a bachelor of science degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee in 1983.
