SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Billy Carroll, President & Chief Executive Officer of SmartBank announced today the first management member to join the new bank. Greg Davis will be the bank’s Executive Vice President & Chief Lending Officer.

Davis, a Sevier County native, started his career with the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions as a bank examiner and following that worked for Citizens Bank of Blount County as a loan officer. Most recently, he was with BB&T as a City Executive responsible for commercial lending in Sevier County.

The organizers of the bank plan to submit their notice of intent to establish the new bank with the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions in the coming weeks, and following approval of the notice will begin soliciting investors for the bank’s common stock.
