PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. – Another veteran loan officer has decided to join the ranks of the new SmartBank. Cathy Reed, whose career started with First National Bank of Gatlinburg and who was most recently with BB&T, has been in the banking industry in Sevier County for 37 years.

Bill Carroll, Chairman of the Board of Smartbank said, “Cathy Reed is just the beginning of several exciting and experienced community leaders that we hope to attract to our new bank. We plan to hit the ground running, and Cathy is a star performer that brings the expertise required to develop great customer service in our loan department from the first day forward.”

Cathy Reed said, “I’m more excited than I have been in years to join this organization. All of my friends and associates say they are envious of me for this great opportunity. I just know this will become a special place to work, but more importantly, it will be the right place for the community to do their banking. I look forward to serving all my friends and associates real soon.”

Reed will serve as the bank’s Senior Vice President and Commercial Lender. She lives in Seymour with her husband H.M. and has two daughters, Christie Flynn and Jennifer Hamilton, and two grandchildren, Cooper and Saydie.
