Cathy Ackermann is the President and CEO of Ackermann PR, a full-service marketing communications firm based in Knoxville, Tenn. Ranked among the Top 100 public relations firms in the country, Ackermann PR was placed on Inc. magazine’s list of fastest-growing companies in the country. Ackermann received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee, and a certificate in French Language and History from L’Universite Catholiqué in Paris, France. In 2016, she was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Volunteer Chapter of Public Relations Society of America, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Tennessee College of Communications and Information. Ackermann is actively involved in her community including her volunteerism and service on the boards of directors with the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, UT Development Council and the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, among several others. Her most notable achievements include serving as a board member of the U.S. Council for PR Firms in New York, a founding member of the Croft Society and she is a nationally published writer on the topic of integrated marketing and communications.
